Guava Cupcakes

Here’s a little sweet nibble before we head into the weekend.  I got my hands on some guava pastry filling a few weeks ago and have been talking about using it ever since.  Days went by and I think the girls at work thought I was full of it, since not one cupcake entered the building. Well, finally, the cupcakes arrived.

It’s yummy little cuppie.  Different than the traditional flavors I typically whip together. I think the filling inside the cupcake brings out the overall guava flavor, not necessarily the nectar in the batter.  Combined with the guava buttercream, the overall cupcake has a lovely tropical feel. And, since the majority of the US is under a heat wave, the sweet pink dessert is a refreshing treat.

Enjoy the weekend, everyone!

I LOVE guava paste. It’s readily available in Texas due to the Tex-Mex fusion :)

I might have to work on a guava dessert for two… 😉
